What used for ?
Anestocil has oxybuprocaine hydrochloride as its active substance, a drug with superficial anesthetic action of the cornea.
Anestocil is indicated in the eye surface anesthesia, when necessary, in certain medical acts, such as: tonometry, examinations for contact lenses and extraction of foreign bodies, the cornea and the conjunctiva.
How to use ?
Use this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.
Adults (including the elderly) and children.
Anestocil is given locally in the eyeball.
Administer on average 1 to 3 drops, before the medical act.

1- Open the lid of the container, and exert a slight pressure on it, causing the drop by drop liquid to come out at the recommended dose.

2- To perform tonometry (measuring the internal pressure of the eyeball) administer 1 drop in the conjunctival sac and wait 60 seconds.
For the placement of contact lenses administer a second drop after 90 seconds.
For most medical acts 1 to 2 drops is enough. However, to achieve a higher anesthetic effect, more drops, intervals of 90 seconds, may be administered.

For the removal of foreign bodies from the epithelium of the cornea or for the incision of cysts of the meibomian gland through the conjunctiva, the administration of 3 drops, intervals of 90 seconds between each other, produces a sufficient anesthetic effect after 5 minutes.
The sensitivity of the cornea returns to normal after about 1 hour.

3- After applying the drops keep the eyes closed and apply a moderate pressure with the fingertips in the inner corner of the eye, about 2 minutes, to decrease the possibility of systemic absorption
